据美国网媒《哈芬登邮报》（Huffpost）报导，18岁的杰克逊（Jackson Reffitt）当日于电视直播中发现，48岁的父亲盖伊（Guy Reffitt）正在国会衝突现场，其后致电FBI，向当局告发父亲参与国会「暴乱」。

FBI随后上门搜查，搜出盖伊家中的2把枪。盖伊承认自己当日前往国会及携带手枪，但有按华盛顿特区的法律拆枪。盖伊目前因涉及国会「暴乱」案件遭到检控
