Situational Writing [Volunteering]

Your 20-year old cousin from London has written to you to inform you that he will be moving back to Singapore next year, after living abroad for five years.

He was inspired by an article in a magazine to give back to society by volunteering his services and he would like you to join him in these activities when he returns to Singapore. He has sent you the article as he would like you to choose the activtities for the both of you.

The third activity is the ComChest Heartstrings Walk. All you have to do in the activity is to walk along a 4 kilometre route. While working, you can enjoy the distinctive sights, the beautiful Singapore skyline and the iconic attractions such as The Helix, YOG Park or the Merlion Park. It cost only $10 per participant. All the money collected will be doubled dollar for dollar by the government and given to charity. For a sporty person like you, you can choose to take part in Race To The Sky, a vertical marathon. A team of four will have the opportunity to race 57 stories up and be rewarded with a breathtaking paranomic view of the Singapore cityscape. We only need to find two more people to participate! It costs $2000 per team, but all the money will be given to charity, so I think it is worth the money and effort. There will also be a carnival at the Heartstrings Walk. Quality hand- crafted gifts made by beneficiaries will be sold and you will also have the chance to receive a massage from visually impaired therapists. I think such an activity is suitable for someone fun-loving and sporty like you.
