I also came from the Dominican Republic. When I came to this country, I was in my last year of high school, and it was very hard because I did not know the language. I struggled a lot taking and passing the English regent. It was the only thing holding me back from graduation. “look around, and that wastes time.” I can say I did that a lot because I did not understand what was happing in the classroom. I was not engaged in the lessons. Unfortunately, some teachers did not care if I was understanding their lessons or if the instructions were meeting my needs.

When it comes to holding back a student in the same grade, school members have to be very mindful about what they are doing because this could affect the students.

I believe teachers should take advantage of the students' interests to help them succeed with what they are struggling.

Sometimes the state exams bring consequences to the students. A test does not get to show the brightness and the abilities of the students. They should not evaluate students based on their exams score.

There are many reason why students may not do well on a test. For example, some students may feel anxious because the test. I believe these state exams affect students by tracking their learning performance in a negative way.

I wonder if an extra time will help. Sometimes teachers rush children to provide their answers because the short time they have to teach the lesson.

Characteristic gestures and expressions could say a lot about a child. But, we need to be very careful the way we interpret these physical presences because a classroom is very diverse, and culture could influence these characteristics.

Be able to receive criticism in order to improve their work is a skill that many people are not ready to face. Some people feel insulted when others criticize their work. I believe be able to receive criticism makes us a bigger person because we will learn and improve our work.

This sentence will stay with me forever. When I have the opportunity to teaching in a classroom, I would love to take this sentence as a part of the classroom. I believe this sentence is very meaningful, and as a future educator, I will teach the students that if they feel stuck completing a task, they need to analyze and look for other strategies to see if work but they should never give up.

This video is interesting. I'm so excited that I will have the opportunity to learn how to use Scratch. When my daughter was five years old, she asked me a few times to type this web for her. She was always trying to figure out how to use it. On a few occasions, she asked questions about it, but I could not answer them because I did not know how to use it. I am so happy that now I will be able to learn and share with her and others. Also, this method to teach coding to children is very interesting. When I was learning to code for the first time, it was for one of my sociology classes. It was complicated for me.
