this chapter much more impactful. She didn't beat around the bush with how bad Henrietta was. She was in pain, miserable, and clearly suffering. She showed how much her family and those around her cared, and then that was it. She kept her privacy by not including her death scene, and all these choices combine to make a very moving chapter. It's short, but it's so much more impactful because it shows how caring Henrietta was while demonstrating the horror and pain of her last few days. There wasn't a slow buildup with a miraculous hope for a cure, it was a slow and painful end. By making this chapter short, Skloot shows how much pain Henrietta was in without dragging it out. This chapter is much more impactful because it is short. She died a horrible death of cancer, and it was a tragedy. There's not much else to say. First, as this paragraph describes, her last moments were filled with pain and suffering.If she didn't want her sister to be there when she died, I doubt she would want the whole world to know. I think her death scene wasn't included to give her a level of respect and privacy that had been taken away from her.
