This was part of unit for my G&T classes. The debate sets us up for argumentative writing and the students love debating and arguing. They make suggestions as a class for the debate and then I put them on a Google Form and they voted. I think many adults sometimes brush aside what a child may be feeling because they may see it as 'not a big deal' or think they need to just get over it.
