New and exciting information. I remember watching an unauthorized documentary of Beyonce (don't recall the title) and it was pretty good. I really did not care about the source and where the information came from. It was news to me and enjoyable.

I felt like I learned more about her and therefore I was able to relate more to her. When you follow an artist enough you can sort of fish out the bogus information.

I definitely agree. No fan or interested person want to read or view the same information over and over. When reading or watching any documentary the viewer wants to learn something new and exciting so they can feel they now that much more about the artist

If it is the first ever written/filmed documentary then yes, but of many documentaries and books, etc have been released then it is pointless to continue putting out the same information in my opinion.

I've watched plenty of documentaries of the same artist for example Michael Jackson and it just gets old to me to hear and view information I am already aware of. To me it shows a lack of creativity on the producers and directors part.

I honestly don't think the artist reaction is important. An artist of McCartney's caliber should expect unauthorized or not so great documentaries about them. Is it right? No, but I don't think artist on his level should pay too much attention to it.

Pointing out Faulkner's derivative works showed how important it is to be authentic in one's craft. Many are often emulated but few succeed in the idea of copying someone else's style whether it be music, writing or dancing, etc.

Faulkner needed to fail in order to realize and accept his own greatness. This setback helped him to grow into a profound writer and I'm sure it has led to others trying to do just as he did - emulate.

The reviewer is informing us of Inge's background and showing where his influence began. This allows the reader to have some clarity as to how and why the author feels he is capable of writing about Faulkner.
