Respect goes far. When there is respect for the students and the teacher, the learning environment becomes a safe place. Students have to learn how to respect and interact with others in the learning environment.

I agree with you and Uyen because when teachers take the time to help students understand their expectations, then students will have a clear idea.

This is such an important foundational principle because too often some teacher won't be prepared to teach. Unfortunately, this affects the students and loose the respect of being a teacher.

When teaching, teachers need to consider everything around the classroom. Teachers should always be prepared and use their resources.

Detention does not do any good for the student. I feel like detention is something enforced for teachers to avoid the student. I strongly believe that the behavior should be corrected at the moment.

I strongly believe that the behavior should be corrected at the moment. Detention will push the student away from the learning environment in which becomes a bigger issue.

Students need to know up front what would be the consequences if they break a rule in the classroom because it allows the students to take full responsibility of their own actions.

Students need to know up front what would be the consequences if they break a rule in the classroom because it allows the students to take full responsibility of their own actions. Once the student is being constantly reminded of the rules and consequences, then the teacher can take act on the negative behaviors that the students are committing. Therefore, it is so important to constantly review the consequences as it will establish an environment of respect in the classroom. The consequences should serve as a prevention to avoid a larger problem form occurring rather than a punishment. As a teacher, I have notice that students will learn from the consequences that do not humiliate the student in front of others or bring down their self-esteem.
