<title>I teach ELA as well, and I wonder if I can convert some of my writing assessment to other persuasive assignments.</title>

<description>I wonder if we can brainstorm different ways of assessing this. I remember using a strategy called RAFT to create different assessment options that are student created. I think that would fit this assignment well. Students could make a persuasive video, powerpoint, advertisement, etc.</description>

<title>I think the processes can also be spread out over the course of a week or month. If you were studying narratives for example, recall and product could be part of the model and criteria creation, as well as planning phase.</title>

<title>I ran out of space: I do give students options for some assignments, I mean learning targets here in the broader sense of a unit.</title>

<title>During my masters, I shifted from a dominant, student-focused mindset, to an explicit instruction mindset. I'm having an inner-conflict here, because the focus of the direct learning targets from session 3 is highly teacher centered.</title>

<title>I'm used to setting goals with students (students create a reading goal, as well as other writing and ELA goals). How would you co-create learning targets? Even when I have used fun, performance assessment, the assignments come from the teacher.</title>

<title>I believe these two aspects of RACES can be broken into two learning targets. Explain and Analyze can be one day where students explore how to Analyze. I teach this as combining what you know with what you read to say something new.</title>

<title>Especially at younger ages, it is important for teachers to set a context, or frame of reference in which students can build up their ideas. This can allow for more effective student led lessons in the future.</title>

<title>I add questions such as this into units with students and allowing them to have discussions and debates. I often do not take it farther than this step. How do you make changes beyond this without straying from curricula too far.</title>
