This tape measure has meet another one that comes from the center of the goal. Thu, 04 Aug 2016 11:38:02 -0400 To get the corner points to even out, I had to change the lines without changing the numbers or lengths. This gave me baselines that are at right-angles to the center line. https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536439 https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536439 Tue, 02 Aug 2016 10:53:01 -0400 This is an image of the lines I drew to show where to make the soccer field. https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536438 https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536438 These lines are measured in centimeters and the scale is 1 centimeter on the drawing is equal to 10 yards (or 30 feet) in real life. Tue, 02 Aug 2016 10:46:53 -0400 This is 75 feet which is 25 yards, because 75 divided by three is 25. There are three feet in a yard. https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536437 https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536437 When you drag a 75 foot tape measure from the goal to the corner and a 141.5 foot tape measure from the center to the corner, you make the meet, and you have a right angle at the center of the goal. Tue, 02 Aug 2016 10:42:01 -0400 This is one of my longest lines. It is 141 feet and six inches long, which is 47 yards. This line helps us get a 90 degree angle at the goal. https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536436 https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536436 I'm not sure how they get this number, but it has to do with adding half of the base line with half of the center line. Tue, 02 Aug 2016 10:37:08 -0400 The reason why I chose this field is because I like the way it's designed. Also, it's my school. The length of the field is 240 feet which is equal to 80 yards and the width of the field is 150 feet which is equal to 50 yards. https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536432 https://nowcomment.com/documents/56304?scroll_to=536432 To chalk this field the first thing you would do is drag a string to the middle of the field through the center of where both of the goals will be. We know that the length of the field is 240 feet, and we can find three points the base lines and the center. To mark out one half of the field you attach the ends of two tape measures to the ground, one tape at one goal and the other tape at the center of the field. Your goal is to connect them which gives you a corner and a right angle at the goal so the baseline isn't tilted. Use the numbers from the soccer calculator. (See next image.) Pull the two tapes to the lengths given so that you will end up with a right angle.
