This was a great description of the student. I believe that her gift for arts will help her with anxiety in time. She seems like a bright student and I believe the more she expresses herself in a smaller group setting, her confidence will grow more in expressing herself in a bigger group with assistance fro you as her teacher. Keep encouraging and giving her positive reinforcement and she will continue to grow.

When a student finds what they love do or what are gifted to do, they give their all to it and excel in that paticular area. Teachers can help them to apply that passion to other subjects so they can excel in those areas as well.

We should always remember that we can be better at what we do. There is always room to grow and information to be found. We should fall in love with the process and get better at the God given gift that we have been blessed to have.

I agree with this statement. I believe that parents need to hear about there children from caring teachers and people. Sometimes parents are in denial of their children's actions or they knew it and need to hear it to face it and bring change if there is a problem. Hearing from caring people and partnering with the parent will always be beneficial to the student.

All ideas may seem crazy at first and if we go asking people their opinions about it we may seem even crazier to them. The best thing we can do with ideas is think about them amongst ourselves and try them out. sometimes we talk ourselves out of ideas and say thing like " this will never work" or listen to people that say " this will never work. Before anything worked in the world it never worked before. So go and try it and see what happens.

It is important to remember that we are there to help the child. If a topic comes up, especially with a parent or guardian present, we should touch on the topic, but keep in mind the main reason we are there so that we will not get distracted and we will get to the proper solution

Going beyond the limits you think you have.

When we are creating, some of us, out limits on ourselves and as we continue to create we can see that we have gone beyond our expectations for other selves. A lot of times this happens have the task is over and we review everything. We can learn not to put limits on ourselves and enjoy the progress that may teach us something new about ourselves.

I agree with you Jessie that it is important to get students to view writing in a way that can help them shape and be relatable to themselves. I believe if students find a way to connect with writings in a personal way their interest in writing will grow.

Asking questions can only help. What you do not ask you do not know. I was always the one in the class that would stop the class and ask the question if I did not understand something in class. People would come up to me after class and say " thank you for asking that question in class".My grandmother always says " closed mouths don't get fed". By saying something you can receive the help you need and help others. If you do not get the answers then go and search for it. If you look for it you will find it or find someone or something that will lead you to it. Even if you do not get the help from people continue to look and go after what it is that you need. It will come to you.

It may not feel good, but it is working for your good.

We should take the risk. That is easier said than done with sone people and I understand that. Some of us do not take the risk because we start coming up with outcomes in our mind that have not happened yet. We begin to rehearse reasons why we should not instead of seeing reasons why we should. We should just go through and if it does not work out that is not working against us, it is working for us because now we know what will not work. Now we come up with a different solution and keep looking until we come up with one that work. Why stay in a place that's not working when we can move and see what happens. The may not feel good at first, but it will work out for our good!

Some of us have fear when we have to learn new things because we have never done it before. Some of us even start to project outcomes that become reality before we do anything. We can not go in learning something with preconceived notions. We just have to go in and learn it and a lot of times we will see that the more we do it the more we are comfortable with it.

Thinking can not be fixed on every topic. I have learned down through the years that people have different perspectives on situations and that is ok. Just because two people have differences of opinions does not mean they can not understand one another.

Good statement. We have to consider others and put ourselves n others shoes to understand where they re coming from. having empathy and sympathy leads to having compassion for others.

Some people listen to respond ad do not listen ti understand where the individual they are talking to is coming from. They will say things such as " are you finish" which shows they are not listening. When I am having a conversation with someone and they have finished talking I say to them " this is what I am getting from what you are saying" and I say what I got out of the conversation because I could be interpreting what they are saying wrong. Also, I would ask them " what did you hear me say"? I ask that because I want them to understand where I am coming from and I want to understand where they are going from. We should listen to understand and not wait to talk.

I responded to the "Old Dog, New Tricks: Three Habits of Mind and TPCK" article. I can relate to the author. No matter how old I am I try to keep learning. I stay curios and motivated to learn. We are never done learning. Learning something may bring a struggle, but if we know the struggle may come we can come up with a solution before it comes so that we can continue if it comes. It is being ready instead of having to get ready. The out come of learning are greater than the struggle while we are learning. That is why we should press forward and let nothing stop us from learning.

Thinking helps to put you back at the time and place of an event and recall the actions that took place or how you were feeling at the time of the event. Thinking also brings clarity and understanding.

It is important for us as teachers/ educators to use language to help students grow in their thinking and communication. We have to introduce new ways for students to use language to communicate with one another. If we ask them who, what, where, when, why, and how, this will have them to dig deeper into themselves to give an explanation. In return this will help them grow in self expression instead of giving one or two word answers to describe themselves or their view point on something.
