Most people would feel disbelief at what was said and it would most certainly feel validating when being told that, the information was complete nonsense. She had been in pain and continually sent back until it became a problem. The quotes here feel almost like mocking. As if you were talking to someone who was complaining and they stated the obvious while quoting someone else.
