Her description of her refugee family living the American dream is a story of perseverance through the obstacles of war and surviving and living a fulfilled life. However, war unfairly creates circumstances where many families cannot escape the violence and others are stifled by unfair societal disadvantages that come with being a refugee, unable to get the lives on track.
