I agree with you. To write short well crafted sentences, the writer should choose the right words to convey the message with less precise words.

The problem sounding authoritative is that the reviewer could make bad judgements. Pools says that it also depends on weather it's fiction or biography as they are two different kind of works. Therefore, sounding authoritative the reviewer will look bad.

That's true. It seems like they have a tight schedule and circumstances takes away their flexibility. So yes, reviewers don't have time to read the book twice and let it sink in.

The implications are that the founding fathers didn't see slavery as problem. They ignored slavery like it was something that didn't need attention. The reviewer might be suggesting how could the brightest minds fail to see that slavery was inhumane and they didn't do anything about it.

In the real world every book should be assigned to a proper reviewer. A reviewer who is an expert on that particular genre or the place where books is written. But it doesn't go like that in the real world, editors don't usually find a "right" reviewer for each book. According to Pool Editor have a lot of responsibilities. They have to make decisions to assign the best suited reviewers for the kind of book they need.

Because reviewing is not strict or it doesn't follow any rules. Evey reviewer and reader has his or her own opinion or bias. And it allows the reviewers to take revenge or lift the first-time author to the bestselling list. It all depends on who review it

It brothers Pool because when reading under pressure she doesn't have time to read carefully and think about the book. Instead she starts taking notes. She says that when writing under pressure: "writing can easily become formulaic; the reviews begin to sound the same."

Pool says that in order to write well, the reviewer has to be well read and culturally aware. But also be able to criticize fairly and argue logically. Good writing alone won't make the best review.

According to Pool, anybody can be a reviewer. They are either "professionals" or "amateurs". For Pool this question matters, because it is both encouraging and discouraging, but more encouraging because if they enjoy writing reviews they don't have to do it as their career. They can do it on the side while they earn "their living elsewhere."

Being aware means that review editors know well the publishing house inside and out, so they can "identify" with them so the review editors know what type of books the publishing house want to publish.

According to Pool, every editor aims to a particular audience, therefore, the quality or the theme of the book doesn't really matter as long as the book fits their criterion and reach to the crowd they're aiming for.

The real personality of Marilyn Monroe.

The impact in the first paragraph draws the reader to meet Marilyn Monroe real character. The writer do that by carefully choosing his words to show Marilyn Monroe's both worlds, of an artist and a regular person. The words accomplished, marvelous taste, avid reading, craving for classics and could decorate a house, cook and her misspelling and grammar errors shows how the real artist Monroe was, something the biographies don't tell.
