Paraphrasing is when you find a sentence, phrase, or quote that you want to use in your essay by putting it into your own words without copying exactly what it said to avoid plagiarism. It is not plagiarism as long as you've worded the phrase differently and it doesn't sound or look like you've copied any words directly from it. Paraphrasing can be easy to use, but it can also be hard to actually find a new way to reword the piece you've found. Quoting is another way to avoid plagiarism. Quoting is when you copy exactly what you're source said but you put it in quotations and cite it. The only thing to avoid is quoting too much of one source which can begin to look like plagiarism. The difference between paraphrasing and quoting is that paraphrasing is rewording a source and quoting is directly copying a source using quotation marks. In my opinion, these two are the easiest ways to cite.
