When Tom imagines what the story might be about his death he realizes that his work has been his highest priority in his life. He remembers all of the nights he spent working on his projects instead of spending time with his wife.

Tom started out by going out onto the ledge to retrieve the paper that he wanted. But when he was actually out there and in danger he changed his mind. He no longer cared if he got the paper, he just cared if he survived to tell the story.

Tom after watching his evidence float around for a while begins to look for ways that he could possibly go and retrieve the paper. He measures the width of the ledge as well as the indent of the bricks to see if it would be at least halfway safe for him to go out onto the ledge. He is motivated to risk himself for the paper because of the time that he put into obtaining the information on the paper.

The yellow paper

Paragraph 18,sentences 55 and 56 shows the importance of the yellow paper. It shows this because in the sentences it tells how as soon as Tom saw the yellow paper he ran to the window to try to open the window with all of his strength.

Tom is staying home because he has a guilty conscience about something, most likely his wife. At the beginning of the story it shows that Tom values his work more than other things.

Tom says that the reason he is distracted is because of the heat, when really he is distracted by his guilty conscience.

I think that mosaic plagiarism might be more serious than direct plagiarism.

I think that mosaic plagiarism might be more serious than direct plagiarism because you clearly are intending on plagiarizing if you are willing on putting the effort of finding synonyms to substitute with.
