This can happen when someone writes a really good paper and decides, instead of spending a lot of time writing another, to use it for another class.

Hey Cicorra! I too noticed that from the above paragraph it explains that its purpose was to compare and contrast tent camping and staying at hotels.

Hey Hayden! I also noticed that in this essay they first list all of the differences in one paragraph and then all of the similarities in another. Although, I think this is a block essay.

In the essay "The Senate and the House of Representatives" I noticed in the second paragraph that it list everything different about the two houses. What's unique about this style is that it talks entirely about one thing, and then moves on to the next thing. Like how the essay first mentioned everything different about the two houses and then everything that's similar. I wonder if this essay style is a better set up for comparing and contrasting things than the other styles.

In the essay "Vacations" I noticed that in the second paragraph it mainly talks about camping. What's unique about this style is that it talks about one point and then moves on to the next. Like how the second essay gave a point on camping and then vacationing in hotels. I wonder if this essay style is harder for some people to follow along with what's similar and different between the two items because of how it's set up

I think the climax was when Tom thought of the idea to punch the window as hard as he could and see if he could break it. But if it didn't break he would fall to his death. It caused a lot of suspense.

He realizes that his priorities were a complete waste of life. For example, he regrets doing work instead of spending time with his wife, and spending hours alone working on his yellow piece of paper.

The Suspense

It first started when Tom began walking on the ledge, it slowly got more suspenseful as he got closer to the paper. then when he looked down to try and get the piece of paper he was all of the sudden completely out of control. That was the most suspenseful part of the story.

At first his priorities are to get higher up in his job, even if it meant going out on the ledge of his building to get an important piece of paper. Now his priorities are to get back to his apartment alive.

Second Setting

The second setting is Lexington Avenue. The writer uses it to create suspense by making Tom realize how high up he is by looking down at it. For example, it says, "At the same instant he saw, between his legs and far below, Lexington Avenue stretched out for miles ahead."

Tom really wants to get to the top of the company faster than other men his age, but he knows that he can only have a chance if he had that piece of paper. He thinks of crawling to the piece of paper but then starts laughing at himself. Although, he starts planning out how he could do it.

The Yellow Piece of Paper

I think the sentence, "He ran across the room, grasped the bottom edge of the window, and tugged, staring through the glass," shows how important the yellow piece of paper is because he tried catch it before it got to far.

Paraphrasing and Quoting

There are two ways you can avoid plagiarism. The first way is Paraphrasing. It is when you rewrite information you found in your own words so you aren't just copying them. The second way is Quoting. It is when you copy the exact words used in the information you found and use quotation marks.

Self Plagiarism

I think it is very disappointing for someone to Self Plagiaries. An example of Self Plagiarism is if you get an assignment from your English teacher and you're supposed to write an argumentative essay. Although, you remember that you wrote a really good essay back in eighth grade so you decide to use that same one and turn it in to your teacher.
