Each candidate makes sure that they do everything correctly to make the people happy. They work more towards becoming known by the voters in order to be re-elected than focusing on what they had been elected to office for. Even with this they still believe that their winning of an election actually means something. They play it safe while in office to be elected again, keep what their political agenda safe to be elected again, then believe that since they were elected have freedom to act how they want.
