It helps me understand better why not to resubmit a paper. I mean, we all understand that it's dishonest, but do we understand why? Explaining that it belongs to someone else is smart. I did this once, on accident, because I had a paper due at the end of a class, and I didn't remember until late at night, so I went to write it and found an essay that matched the content I thought i had already written it and forgotten. I submitted it, and didn't realize until a lot later what had happened. As the article says, mosaic plagiarism is the most common. while I haven't seen much of it first hand, it is easy to see why a person could get that misconception. When you are are writing a paper, it is a good idea to read any resource material beforehand and not right when you are writing. doing this helps you to avoid plagiarism, because, when you already have the material in your mind and aren't just reading it for the first time, it will be much easier to put it in your own words.
