I think each side is biased. People that play video games will argue that there isn't too much time playing video games. People who don't play will argue there is a line that cane be crossed.

I agree 100% that video games can have advantages, but I do see the downsides.

I agree with this. I know this isn't always the case but a lot of times kids sit and eat and play video games.

Generally not moving and eating leads to weight gain. Like I said this isn't always how it goes, but it makes sense.

I don't think they are affecting the social life, but they are affecting physical.

I do believe that video games take away from actual physical activities and outside time. I may be biased though, because I was always made to go outside and do chores or something if I was watching tv.

There aren't always educational benefits to a video game, but does there need to be?

I applaud video games with historical or educational benefits as well as developing strategy and quick thinking, but I think some games should just be for fun. Thats what a video game is supposed to be: a fun way of passing time and entertainment. I don't think all video games need to have an educational benefit.

Kids play more video games now instead of going outside and doing actual activities. This is caused by some parents passing off time.

The industry has grown because of parents. Sure kids want to play video games, and they should, but in my opinion they shouldn't spend all day doing it. Parents now days sit their kids in front of a tv or video game so that the kid doesn't bug the parent. This isn't always the case, but it is happening more and more. I was raised in a household that didn't think you should be inside just sitting. If i spent more than 2 hours sitting around I would get yelled at and told to go do something outside. I don't think video games are bad and shouldn't be played, but I think they should be in moderation rather than all the time.
