I sit that the speaker died which will make sense because he talks about his soul. Maybe the shock of the Raven scared him so mush that the speaker died. Or maybe the raven was death it self that is going to take the soul of the speaker. Perhaps The speaker knows what he did wrong to think that the devil has come. Which bring to the point that the speaker is a murderer and he killed the girl who he speaks of Lenore. The speaker was then doubting that nothing was there which made him go crazy because then he heard more tapping. Maybe it was his mind playing games with him which is sign of craziness.
