I felt as though my peers would always receive exceptional grades on these analytical papers, and I didn't. I would be critisized for using the same kind of language in my writing. I felt like in a way professors would appropiate cultural written artificats, usually from pop culture (which is inherently black culture) but would bash me for articulating my own thoughts in such a manner.
