This is true this will integrate technology into a school but this technology is essentially useless because you don't use it beyond what the analog can do. If one refuses to use the tech to improve upon what was already the status quo why but it at all.

Technology can not be veiwed as the end all be all of making bad students into better students. The only way tech helps this is by making it easier to get resources. so now research doesnt take hours of library hunting and hoping the info is there. Technology can help in projects only if the project is designed to be a good project without the technology. Using tech to use tech starts to muddle the teaching and the learning.

This becomes a problem if you are just buying the newest things with no new training then you waste the money entirely. with this wasted money you could instead invest in the teachers to train them on how to use the new tech.

I would also be wary of having to spend 1000 pounds on a laptop for my child especially depending on the age. In my opinion if a school is going to push for 1-1 then they should provide the materials. If the school can not do so then the school needs to rethink what the plan is and try to figure out if the tech is necessary

I would have to agree with this statement and the one following it that the tech is sometimes more about control then anything else. Even when we look at LMS they are more for dissemination of materials and grading then enhancing the learning of the students.
