I think that technology has made us think that any and every thing is possible by pushing a button. When technology does not take care of an issue that the user has or an an expectation that has been set, people usually say that it doesn't work properly. You go to get education so that you are able to stand out in a crowd and make yourself more marketable. As weird as it sounds, I never thought of that as so much of a "competitive edge".
