Verses 32-42

I know I have a lot of trouble waiting for God...even for just a short time, so I totally relate to the disciples here. But what I really love is Jesus's patience with them! I feel like since He knew what was going to happen and He was very "distressed and troubled" (which incidentally the disciples don't seem to notice...or at least not enough to keep watch), He had every reason to be very upset with them. But He reminds them to "keep watching and praying that you may not come into temptation" and then basically says He knows they want wait, but their flesh doesn't.

In one word: Judas

Not a revolutionary thought or question...but I always wonder what exactly was going through Judas's head. And like did he know the chief priests were at that moment trying to come up with a way to kill Jesus? And why did Judas decide to go to them? Did he know he would get a reward? And how did the chief priests believe he was actually trying to betray him instead of trying to figure out their plots?

It strikes me as interesting that at this point some people (including those that didn't believe in God) believed that resurrection was possible...but then later people didn't believe that Jesus had risen from the dead!

Doesn't look like it...which is good to keep in mind because as much as we would love for everyone to believe sometimes people just refuse and we can't do anything about it except pray for them.

It's kind of sad that--instead of seeing how God can use people of humble origin--they just didn't believe.

I like that it just mentions that Jesus "laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them" almost as an afterthought...like it was no big deal! Makes me smile lol

I've recently been trying to focus on the "trust in the Lord with all your heart". Not specifically with the whole virus fiasco, but it applies to this whole thing as well. I tend to like to know what is happening next so I can plan everything out (like I want to know if I'm going to pass my next term and if I'm going to make it through nursing program so I can plan my life accordingly), but I'm trying to trust that God knows what is best and that He has a plan.

I was thinking about fact checking. Like maybe part of what Jesus was saying is to think about what He is saying and see if it matches up with scripture. It reminded me of the Bereans who "fact-checked" what they were being taught. I don't know if that's exactly what Jesus meant or if He was thinking about at that time, but that's just what came to mind.
