Some stories just aren't meant to be drawn out in a long story. SO flash fiction makes it not seem too short, because it's supposed to be.

That's pretty cool how the author wanted to use their anxiety in a positive light.

I've been guilty of trying to do this with my writing. Every time something new happens I try not to list everything in the room before moving on. But this is some good advice.

Whenever I write something, I usually go to my friends and let them check it to see if it's good. And I always get the same 'good job!'. So I went to tell them that they need to be more critical, but they said that it's that good and I don't have anything to criticize, except for some spelling errors.

I just found it funny how he used talking to his friends as an example for translating foreign literature. But when you think about it, the way we communicate with our friends kinds does sounds like a different language.

I thought about this single sentence a lot. Sure, it would be a lot easier if all languages worked the same way. But how interesting would it be? There wouldn't really be a difference, would it. I generally enjoy the fact that there are different languages.

I wish I could do more with this. I have problems putting everything "I" want to do in a single, normal sentence.

I have CONSTANTLY had to deal with this while writing. My characters are usually out of the ordinary, so it's kinda weird to pick into their brain and write what they're thinking.

This has happened to me before, while I was writing a story. There wasn't any conflict for a while, and it started to get boring to write.

The writer makes an excellent point with that question. It really makes you think about stuff you've probably read of in the past, and if that character was really interesting.

I love it when writers compare something to something else, but I especially love it when you'd think both things would nothing to do with each other, until the writer explains the simularity.
