I agree that the languages she uses with people in her family or that she's close with are all her home tongues. Home tongues are for you with your closest family members.

Anzaluda refers to her "home" tongues, these are the specific languages she speaks with her family and friends. In the five versions of Spanish she lists, Chicano Texas Spanish is the one language that's most used or most important to her. Although the language she uses does mostly depend on who she is talking to.

I agree that this is bothersome and odd because they have all these rules yet they rarely bring up boys it seems to always be for the girls.

In this paragraph Anzaldua tells us why she speaks the way she does. She told us she should keep her mouth shut and never talk back to her parents. This is just natural for Anzaldua now and she doesn't think twice to keep quiet and not talk back. I think the people who Anzaldua was around growing up played a huge role on the way she speaks, her church and her parents would be the biggest reason.

Yes I believe our identity changes over time.

Our identity changes so much through our entire lifetime. There are too many things to list that can affect your identity, but some in particular for me would be your community, your parents, and your goals. Your community or the people you are around affects your identity so much, just adapting to how they are you naturally start acting and saying the same as them. Parents are another huge factor to your identity, for two very different reasons. If you look up to your parents and strive to be them one day your identity will follow things they do. If you don't have parents you look up too or you want to be better than they are then that will also change how you act you would want to be different from them and not follow their steps. Having goals in life is another factor that ties in to your identity. Having certain goals allows you to work hard towards your goal, and everyone develops different goals depending on their past life.

I agree with stories being a big part of how people connect.

When you said "Stories help bring people together and connect within each other" I completely agreed with this because its very true, stories really do bring people together.

We tell stories to build a more personal connection with our audience.

Sharing stories is the best way to learn about someone, its the start of building connections with your audience. After sharing the stories the audience gets a better sense of who you the writer are and will be able to understand you more. Narratives sort of ties these together making the story easier to understand
