this word stood out to me. It implies that they just want their own land, and to be left alone by themselves.

as pointed out, the tone contrasts greatly with the diction. To me, at least, this seems to be sort of a reflection on the predicted road ahead after they are driven from their land

His words are very blunt and meaningful, and he really drives home the point that they will be disconnected from their ancestry, and their traditions.

Americans have accomplished great things without the government, even though the government has sometimes gotten in the way.

Despite issues with the government, some people have gone out of their way to do great things themselves. This implies individualism, and also the anti-government views of the author.

Despite measures meant to prevent them, unjust laws exist.

This paragraph insists that the government doesn't give enough minority power. This somewhat reflects the views of Anti-Federalists during the founding of the US. He also states that according to most people, abiding by unfair laws and rules are the lesser of two evils- the other being the result of repealing or revising the law. To some extent, this can be related to modern politics, of people insisting that although Trump is bad, Biden is also bad, so it's down to picking the lesser of the two evils.
