Theme

This is my final idea for a good theme, and that is perseverance. Their aunt has spent most of her life away, and presumably would have lost interest in or forgotten her old passions entirely. But music in this instance holds strong, and even a quarte of a century later, she remembers music and her deep emotional connection reflares, or as you might say, it persevered that entire time.

Here could be another theme, triumph. This woman has forgotten about this life for so long, and the narrator finally broke her out of her shell. She is completely in awe and shock of what she has been missing, and is clearly very eager to get back to it, whether she knew it or not.

This is a good sentence for theme, as it demonstrates how they desperately want to repay their aunt, but cannot. Perhaps a good theme for that would be attempting to overcome a struggle?

Sentence POV

So, this again shows first person POV. However, this sentence is particularly good at also adding the meaning for why it's first person. This person clearly loves their aunt, they recount many fond memories of her, and for almost all of her trip to Boston, they attempt to repay some of the joy she brought them as a child. Being in first person allows this unique perspective, as well as a deep personal meaning with it. It might also inspire others subconsciously to put themselves and role models in their lives in the position of these two.

Metaphor POV

This metaphor shows how the narrator is speaking in first person, about how their aunt regards other women.

So, I think it's good that you brought this up. I take this to mean after looking at it the way you showed, that maybe there is some middle ground. For example, a true republic lets the people govern, and it makes me wonder if this could be a good middle ground. Would any government at all be bad, or is this at the very least, an okay compromise?

Best line

This is my favorite line, because in my opinion, he's just so stupid for saying it. I know it lines up with the typical views, but it's basically him throwing a hissy fit about not getting to do anything he wants. When you look deeper at the line, it suggests that being just is doing what you want, as you are being true to yourself. This is all well and good, until you realize that it means he might want to murder people because he "Feels it is just". Overall, I just find this line humorous.

Connection to Romantic

I think the whole spiel about a government that doesn't govern shows the Romantic views perfectly. It shows how if a government were merely a figurehead, we as the individual could focus more on ourselves. This is of course in line with how they thought. To look a little deeper, it would be similar to communism. Under communism, people work together for a common good, but in this case, it would allow people to work with who they wanted to. Yet another choice of individuality. Finally, without a government, there would be no rules. Rules are fundamentally anti-romantic when you think about it, as they limit expression. Thats why this is the best and simplest way to show how his views line of with those.

I think the use of the word proposition is interesting. This isnt a deal or an offer, it is a proposition to be maintained formally
