Blindness has divided oppressed people throughout the novel for example, the college’s faculty and students disowned Jim Trueblood because of their blind allegiance to an ideology. The narrator calls for an end to the blindness that causes such interracial divisions and urges the formation of a united front. Without knowing the 16 habits, I have actually implemented thinking and communicating with clarity and precision many times. Before I told my parents I made a list of the places we were going, and how I was planning to get there. After talking with my parents they agreed because I had giving them explanations and evidence. It is important to show acceptance. Try to get a sense of the feelings that the speaker is expressing, and stay mindful of the emotional content being said as well as the literal meaning of the words. An empathic listener works to keep the speaker from becoming defensive. I think this is a really good skill that everyone should at least show some knowledge on. Woody is a member of the Confederate Tribe of Warm Springs in Oregon. Woody’s poetry reflects her close ties with her family, the natural world, and her people, a group she portrays with humanity and sympathy, just like Joy Harjo. In the poem “Home and the Homeless” Woody describes through imagery, three different types of unwanted change; change with the people on the reservation, change in the culture on the reservation, and her own personal change. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/53418/home-and-the-homeless Tue, 26 Jan 2021 11:30:14 -0600 Theme https://nowcomment.com/documents/252045?scroll_to=2292203 https://nowcomment.com/documents/252045?scroll_to=2292203 Harjo confronts the ghosts of her ancestors, she explores a lingering feeling of injustice and tries to forge a new beginning, all the while weaving in themes of beauty and survival. You?” “I’m fine!” regular conversation right? Has a connection just occurred, or been blocked? We’re following a convention but hidden our experiences. Maybe because it's safer, or it's the scrip; we are "supposed to" stay on the surface so we do. I think we could take some advice from here and apply it to our society and see if it will do any good. The worst part was if you didn't raise your hand often it meant that you weren't paying attention, your name would get called more than usual. The company offers low-stakes daily sweepstakes prizes. There’s no purchase necessary to win, but the odds of winning are small. As we saw in the movie, Arnold is so thrilled and has made a plan about selling the house because he got a winning ticket. So when Jack tells him that he has to have the winning number, he simply replies with that he’s not a gumby. I think Jack told him that because a lot of time it those winning tickets can be scams. You usually don't feel energetic when you're trapped inside and it's pouring outside; it's more a feeling of sleepiness. Interestingly, Sexton describes the rain as red ants "bouncing off her window." I don't think the context is meant to be literal, but rather more based on the effect of something so tiny hitting something so hard on the glass.I feel like the red ant symbolizes the speaker in a way, and in the life of the speaker, the window is an obstacle or challenge of some kind.
