However, that does not mean I am not making smart decisions as I am still very aware of my grades, work, priorities, but also still trying to find a sense of adventure and creating a fun life. It is fully convincing that those who are impulsive have a lower IQ or grades that suffer. Self-discipline is important and one should always think of their actions before making a decision. Although, the misconception of the emotion loneliness, I feel that it is okay to cry and be lonely. Yes, everyday things are changing around us. This is inevitable, change is coming our way whether we agree or disagree with what is to come. How can we keep America running smooth, or keep this a great place to be? How can we help our neighbors out? Or just make sure everyone is doing okay during this uncertain time. A crowd of people, or even joining together with loved ones has become something of the past. Who would have thought we would recollect our memories of the time there was a crowded event, such as basketball game, or the New Years Eve gathering in New York City. The biggest wave “ever” ridden by a woman, let alone the biggest wave surfed by *anyone* during the 2019-2020 winter season. I believe it is also an accomplishment for this to be a first for women in professional surfing. I love seeing women be able to hold such high standards in such rigorous sports, such as surfing. Although this is an amazing accomplishment, this makes me wonder how much Maya was able to be celebrated through her accomplishment, considering this occurred during the uprising of the coronavirus. I believe there are many other accomplishments which could not be given the deserved recognition because of the consumption covid-19 took to the media. How might have Maya Gabeira been recognized differently if this would have occurred in a different year, other than 2020? Back when the word "coronavirus" was only a word and was not a for certain "tangible" thing, we as citizens were not as worried or fearful of what was to come. However, seeing a hospital be constructed this fast could easily cause Americans to realize this could be a serious thing we are dealing with. Now here we observe Barry is busy putting up the sign he created for his dad visiting. I believe the simplicity of the sign has a lot of context within the film. Although Barry's sign may be simple it is showing the heart and care for what he is doing. By putting the sign up twenty-four hours prior it shows the impact his dad visiting has on him. Barry is truly excited and this compassion is shown through the sign. Right now this is his main priority. The tensions were high, people were yelling, things were happening, and Jack got pushed past his limit. I would fully agree that Jack only mentioned the medication to Arnold because it was the heat of the moment. I believe at a calmer moment Jack would not have spurred this out. However, he definitely said this during the heat of the moment without thinking of his words before he said it. Which is human nature and this happens to everyone. Jack being the boy's social worker, he takes on many jobs and duties of being their caregiver. Through the film we see he is not only their caregiver, but he is their role model. They look up to Jack and I know deep in Jack's heart he is going to struggle to tell the boys he has to leave. It is the little things such as checking their medication in which Jack won't be able to perform for them once he is gone.These duties are not "work" for Jack this is his life. The job as a social worker can often times consume the life of the worker. The job of a social worker is not just a job, it becomes one's life. Overtime Jack being the boys social worker has made a huge impact on him. Jack's wife is openly stating his dealing with "feeling guilty of doing something for himself." The therapist says "Is that right Jack?" Jack knows the truth, he needs to leave the boys although it will be something very hard to do. There is significant meaning behind these repeated words in which he said. In the previous lines he describes his mind to be "overwhelmed" and refers that he once was "a man with great pride." However now as he says "Had all, lost all," this shows the downfall of his mental health. This is raw. Akin feels as if he had it all and then lost it all.
