The two that stand out to me are as follows; "a large purse that had everything in it but hammer and nails" as well as "shook him until his teeth rattled. Obviously the purse did not have EVERYTHING but hammer and nails and obviously the boys teeth were not shaking but it helps give the reader a perspective of the situation. There are people that will use the slur daily and also people who would be very upset if one were to use the word. I am on the middle of the spectrum, personally I refrain from using the word because of its negative connation associated with the word.
