I agree the narrator felt more stronger and more confident then he was before. He had that break through of what he wanted to do and what he wanted to share with his audience.

I definitely agree that during this section of the book, it shows such detail to connect the two scenes. They both have similarities that share the same vibe and tone.

This past week, my school has finally started our rehearsals for our first musical this whole year. Something I have been doing while working on the production is trying to be perfect with my work and how I perform. While reading the section Striving for Accuracy, I thought about theatre. During a show, I tend to put all my concentration into it and forget about other things I need to get done such as homework and chores. I put a lot of time and effort into my performance and practice, so when I mess up just a little bit, I get really upset with myself.

Sometimes I tend to skip over words while I think about other things such as what my day will look like, what I’m having for dinner that night, or other random things like that. Especially with books I don’t enjoy reading or a book I’m not interested in, I tend to get distracted. “While reading from a passage, we sometimes find that our minds wander from the pages. We see the words but no meaning is being produced.” This explains my problem exactly. I see the words on the page, but I do not read them.

I also agree no one should go through life alone. Especially in my life, it would be extremely difficult going through this without anyone. It is healthy to talk about your feelings and what you're going through with others and when you're alone, this would be difficult to do so.

When reading this poem, I felt a brighter tone from the author. The subject in this poem is very serious, but the references back to music and dancing makes the tone bright. In this next line, "filled the jukebox with dimes in June" also gives it a positive side on this important topic.

I agree putting yourself in other people's shoes can be a good way to resolve problems. It is easy to assume that we are always right, but if we look at others views, we may think differently.

Sometimes people forget to think of other people's point of view. If we put ourselves in other people's shoes, it may resolve any misunderstandings or problems

Is staying comfortable good or bad?

When I got to this point in this article, I couldn’t help but to think about my next step in life. As seniors about to graduate, what will our life look like after high school? We seem comfortable where we are in life right now so we may not want to go out of our comfort zone. Change is good. Staying comfortable is also good, but what if changing and going out of our comfort zone is something we need as our next step?

I also agree that Louis Armstrong's song shows a special and different perspective into the author's race. I think it was interesting to add in this and made me want to read into it more.

Barry seemed really nervous and through his words, he explained how he was excited to finally see his dad. He even cleaned up the place and made his dad a sign. When the day was coming closer, the more anxious he became. When his dad arrived, Barry did not want his roommates there to talk to him. We can assume that Barry thinks his dad is ashamed of him and could be ashamed of his friends as well.

I think this poem does not have a rhyming scene because it can show the "unpredictable" which when someone is struggling with this mental illness, it might be unpredictable.
