      <title>This seems to be the point where he loses his hope. For example, when he goes into the car full of white men, he still has the feeling of being equal to the white men. Now, he cautiously thinks of his actions because he knows he can't thank him.</title>

      <title>I could be wrong, but I think that the white southerners were actually trying to be considerate by not bringing up topics that were too controversial at the time. Instead, the accepted topics were topics everyone in the workplace could relate to.</title>
