Hit reply to answer the question: What challenges did you face in supporting teachers?
Did you collaborate to design something or did you share ideas teachers had tried? I’m curious about what actually happened in the meetings.
Teachers are having trouble to find the time to meet with their teachers. Additionally, the classes on 2nd grade team they are all teaching different because the students in front of them are different levels (high-mid-low)
One thing your team might explore moving forward is how to hold students at different levels to the standards by scaffolding and giving more feedback. This will be our work in the next few sessions.
Most TLs have the same concern. YWhat would you think about beginning with a google doc or slide deck where teachers share ideas?
Another option is to give teachers the link to room 2 in Kumospace and ask them to look at the Power Point and discuss it in small groups. That way a couple of teachers could interact at one time. It takes some of the pressure off you.
If teachers write comments or questions next to the slides, I can respond. Let me know if you want to try this option. Here’s the link"https://tinyurl.com/wc5nh27f""https://tinyurl.com/wc5nh27f""https://tinyurl.com/wc5nh27f":https://tinyurl.com/wc5nh27f

It is hard because the Dual language teacher going at a slower pace.
More is often less. If you build the dispositions, students will work hard and learn more. Can you give yourself permission to teach less but more deeply?
Not having enough time to discuss and plan.
This is the concern of all the TL’s. Would you consider starting with a google doc or slide deck where teachers could share ideas or activities that are working?
The biggest factor in doing this is time. We as teachers really don’t have time in our days to meet and dive deep into our learning, reflect on it, or create bridges to practice.
Additionally, we have many different expectations piled on us and the students have greater needs than before, which makes meeting these expectations even more difficult.
In my school, we have been able to begin adding more SEL components to our ELA program. Teachers have used more text-to-self questions to create deeper connections to a story, or have students think about how they might feel, or what they might do in a similar situation. We are also trying to carve out time in the day for reflection and sharing feelings, thoughts, etc.
I’m sorry you missed the session. Were you able to access the Power Point for the PD? Here’s the link in case you didn’t get it. Link to Power Point"https://tinyurl.com/46zn8spp":https://tinyurl.com/46zn8spp

Everyone if facing the same issues. I wonder if we can explore NowComment as a tool that allows sharing when you are unable to meet.

The baseline will help you to measure progress. It will be interesting to see how you adjust instruction and how that impacts student performance.
Did everyone participate? Dis students listen with empathy and understanding? What might you to do enhance the discussion (even if that means reaching out to a few students who did not participate.)
My students rely on modeling. The first week of the task was very slow moving. I need to model every step so they understand expectations
With time, as explained in the Neuroscience Video, it will be part of who students are and how they operate.
The next step is to integrate it seamlessly into the learning opportunities so that it becomes part of who the students are and not a lesson they remember.
I just wanted to see the kind of task you are giving and what instructions or guidelines students had while working. Sorry if that was not clear. Of course if you did work on selection together, it’s a wonderful learning experience :)

That’s great! Can you give us an example of some of the ideas/thinking uncovered through this process.
