As of Feb. 12, 2024, Utah Lake was at 98% capacity which means that excess runoff will go to the Salt Lake. Sounds like good news since spring runoff hasn't begun yet.

A lot of Utah is in exceptional or extreme drought. The image is concerning, kind of looks like fire.

A megadrought is a period of extreme dryness that lasts for decades. Within that period there may be occasional better, wet, years, but the respite is brief. The dryness soon returns and drought maintains its long-term grip.

“The citizens of Cape Town have not forgotten the fear caused by the drought and potential for the city to have run out of water." The "solution" depended on everyone in the community - individuals, businesses, government.
