Something very static and ‘stopped’ about this painting.

Perhaps the vanishing point needs the white space. Odd how the foreground is so dark and the background is so light. Almost a line of demarcation. And the little “S” of the stream in the middle of the painting.

These are coal chimney tops. I used to have to replace them once in a great while when I owned my chimney business. I remember one that had been blasted my lightning. Impressive, I thought to myself as the clouds above me began to gather for a storm.

Why does she use such a shitty word like “beautiful”. It carries no freight, an empty box car. Vague. Paired next to ’shining" it fails. Epically.
