“The Lamentation” by Giotto was painted before the Renaissance. During this time, individualism was not a heavily emphasized topic. While studying this painting, I noticed that nearly every figure, except for Jesus, has the exact same face. Every being looks essentially the same, showing the lack of concern for individualism in pre-Renaissance times.
