Dec-14-19 Teacher lessons

Dear Toni Cade Bambara

I am really amorous about your short story, “The lesson” because you mentioned two lines that really grabbed my attention

One line that stands out for me is, “And Miss Moore asking us do we know what money is like we a bunch of retards. I mean real money, she says,” I think this line interesting because you mentioned how you thought was trying to bring your minds into what is the money as she knows as a teacher that money is not fairly being distributed.

Other lines that stand out for me are, “ And would much rather snatch Sugar and go to the Sunset and terrorize the West Indian kids and take their hair ribbons and their money too. And Miss Moore files that remark away for next week’s lesson on brotherhood, I can tell.” I think these lines are fascinating because you highlighted how Miss Moore use some remarks that she made on her students and turn them into life lessons since she is their teacher.

Your short story “The lessons” reminds me of the huge gap that I once happen in my home country.

Thanks for your short story “The lessons”.
