A Comment for Tony Cade Bambara

Dear Tony Cade Bambara

I am warm with your short story, “The Lesson,” because it’s really generous of you for trying to help black kids. Therefore the wealth inequality of this country it’s knows. Therefore the most unfavorite people is the black community. So this mostly due to the racial and the privilege of white people. One section that stands out for me is,“I don’t even have a desk,” say Junebug. “Do we?”“ No. And I don’t get no homework neither,” says Big Butt.“ And I don’t even have a home,” say Flyboy like he do at school to keep the white folks off his back and sorry for him. Send this poor kid to camp posters, is his specialty.“ I do,” says Mercedes. “I have a box of stationery on my desk and a picture of my cat. My god-mother bought the stationery and the desk. There’s a big rose on each sheet and the envelopes smell like roses.”“ Who wants to know about your smelly-ass stationery,” say Rosie Giraffe fore I can get my two cents in.“ It’s important to have a work area all your own so that . . .”” I think this section is thought-provoking because it make you things a lot of things as where they live? Did they have a roof ? where is they parent? Did they have a food to eat? Another set of lines that stands out for me is, ““This here costs four hundred eighty dollars,” say Rosie Giraffe. So we pile up all over her to see what she pointin out. My eyes tell me it’s a chunk of glass cracked with something heavy, and dif-ferent-color inks dripped into the splits, then the whole thing put into a oven or something. But for $480 it don’t make sense.” I think this section is interesting because it’s show how Miss Moore is generous to they children for expending all this money to motivated them. Your story helps me to understand that it’s important to help young kids to build their future specially for unfavorited kids. Thanks for your story. I look forward to seeing what you make next. I would like to know if you are the person who experience this. If yes why did you decided to help those kids.
