Dear Toni Cade Bambara
I am thankful by your short story, “The Lesson” because from your story I learned that life can be different when you went through experiences that we never lived. Also, sometimes things can impact your own life as it happens for those kids in the “lesson”. One line that stands out for me is, “ So we heading down the street and she’s boring us silly about what things cost and what our parents make and how much goes for rent and how money ain’t divided up right in this country”. I think is interesting because in this line Moore wants them to understand how the economy works in the country because it cited how riches unequal in the country. Another line that stands out for me is, “She’d been to college and said it was only right that she should take responsibility for the young ones’ education, and she not even related by marriage or blood” I think is fascinating because she takes care of other young people to who she did not have any connection with. Your story helps me to understand the story “ The Necklace that once I read because in that story there was a woman named Mathilde Loisel who did not care about her husband's economic situation but in the end her husband made her understand a lesson about important things. Thank for your story. I look forward to seeing what you make next because I really like how you used your writing in that story. Also, can I know if you have this kind of story in your collection? I really like the way you connected your story to the issues that happen in a society which inequality.
