Dear Tony Bambara,

I am so contented about your short story “ the lesson” because the lesson is that kind of story that inspires people to overcome the racial adversities that people live in the present and also because it shows how a person can become something significant because of the lessons that is teaching and that's who you were trying to do. You as a writer were trying to expose the problem that Black or better to say african American students struggle through the inequality.

One line that really grabs my attention in the story was in the firts parragrahp were it says “ Back in the days when everyone was old and stupid or young and foolish and me and Sugar were the only ones just right, this lady moved on our block with nappy hair and proper speech and no makeup.” I think that this is one of the most important part not because is on the beginning of the story but because of the fact that the young kids emphasizes the fact that everyone was old and stulid back on the days was a way to say and express that everyone acted good and did never understand that everyone is equal even younger are similar to olders. This is so informative and help to open the mind wide open to understand that people's actions were not the same as the people from today. Back on the days black people didn’t matter because of people's stupidity.

Another part of your story that stand out for me was “ And Miss Moore asking us do we know what money is like we a bunch of retards.” this part is pretty important because she was the only one that care about their education and their knowlodgement so no one can doubt and absolutely no one can offend a black african american kid.

Thanks very much for opening my eyes in front of how bad inequality back on the days.
