I go to school occasionally with the fear that my school is going to be the next target even as safe as it seems. No matter how many excuses there are, it still does not make it right. There will never be a perfect solution to this violence, but I believe that we could deter these events by developing stronger laws in support of protecting our students and teachers. On the other hand, if my teacher had a gun I would feel much more secure because I would know that if someone walked through the door of my classroom my teacher would have a gun to protect me and my peers.

Future Of Working reports, Arming teachers could save lives if the teachers had the correct training. This would save a lot of lives due to the fact if someone walked in the classroom with a gun and a teacher had a gun the shooter would most likely stop shooting because of the fact they don’t want to be shot. On the other hand, guns and other weapons that the teachers have may possibly fall into the hands of the wrong person. Psychology Today states, “ Certain students may try to steal the teacher’s gun, taking it by force or burglarizing the teacher’s desk. There may be more school break-ins in order to obtain guns.”
