Dear Representative Ocasio-Cortez,
I am astonished by your Instagram video because of your candor comments on our generation. I think our generation has been experiencing unprecedented events. Our generation is open to change and welcome differences with an open hand and arm. One thing that I really like about our generation is the fact that they are non-complacent - we constantly look for ways to improve ourselves and our society. We shudder at the thought of settling for anything.

One thing that I really like about our generation is the fact that they we are non-complacent - we not complacent. We constantly look for ways to improve ourselves and our society.
One thing you said that stands out for me is: “I think that young people are more informed and dynamic than their predecessors. I think that they are more sensitive, in a positive way, in that they actually care about other peoples' experiences and lives. ” I think this is the best advantage that our generation has over their predecessors because as long as we continue to be dynamic we will constantly make our planet a better place.
Recently I was looking at videos by young activists, and one of them is a good example of what I’m saying here.
I’m especially inspired by the video by Blair Imani because she was courageous enough to announce that she is a queer Muslim despite the fact that a lot of people believe that queer Muslims do not and can not exist. Also, announcing that she is a queer Muslim will not only invite harassment from homophobic but also from her fellow Muslims around the globe. This is why I think you were right when you said: “I think they're profoundly courageous because they're willing to puncture more taboos and have conversations.”
“As I began to wear hijab my visibility as a Muslim woman seems to invite harassment. I face hatred from people across the globe.” (Blair Imani, 2016)
This is basically saying opposing norms always followed by hatred and opposition.

This is basically saying opposing norms always followed by that when you oppose norms, you are often faced with hatred and opposition.
I’ve also been learning about young people who have caused major social changes such as the Arab Spring. The young protesters that I find most inspiring are the ones who went down on the streets to depose the military regime of Hosni Mubarak.
Thanks for taking the time to read my letter. I look forward to seeing what you do or say next.
