Plot Analysis

Recently, I read The Glass Managers, by Tennessee William. I appreciated the fact that I read the play. I was surprised by how the play ended. More specifically the last scene in the play because it shows me that someone may be reserved but if there are comfortable they can be open too. Laura finally finds someone she likes.

The protagonist is Laura. Her story is set in is being a shy girl. She does not want to meet any boy or relationship, but her mother wants her to be in a couple. In the beginning, she did not like anyone and her all the time in the house. specifically, when she meets some she is all the time quite. I think those things the mother was pushing her to do is not nice because she should her do it by herself she is not a kid anymore.

The first local location: The significance of the timeline of the story setting is that they made it happen there because they want to show us both sides of the protagonist. Laura’s family is a middle class and her mother is not satisfied. She wants her to be in a relationship where the guy is rich. That’s why she did not stop finding her a rich gentleman caller.

Laura faces certain forces and pressures. Her mother is very demanding and ambitious. She wants her to do whatever she desired meets these forces and pressures by deciding to do not to accept it. You can see this early in the play scenes one and two.

The tension rises when she meets the boy she likes and everything changes. This might leave a reader feeling content. She is more open and she did not obey her mother if she did not want to because I remember when her mother tells to open the door she directly says no.

The play climaxes when Laura started to have a good conversation with Jim because I would never think she will be comfortable to talk to someone in this way. "People are not so dreadful when you know them. That's what you have to remember! And everybody has problems, not just you, but practically everybody has got some problems. You think of yourself as having the only problems, as being the only one who is disappointed. But just look around you and you will see lots of people as disappointed as you are. For instance, I hoped when I was going to high-school that I would be further along at this time, six years later, then I am now - You remember that wonderful write-up I had in The Torch”?

The falling action ultimately resolves the conflict. Laura is really changing and I’m happy that she followed her heart yielded with her mother pressuring. I’m very satisfied with how the play ended and we know that Tom is not the perfect brother what he makes believed to people.
