The groundhog (Marmota monax), also known as a woodchuck, is a rodent of the family Sciuridae, belonging to the group of large ground squirrels known as marmots. It was first scientifically described by Carl Linnaeus in 1758.
Though they are usually seen on the ground, groundhogs can climb trees and are also capable swimmers.

I would use this site with young students because it uses different text features to present information. As a class, we could read the comparison image, the text box (fact box), and the first paragraph and learn a great deal.

This website would not give me information about groundhogs in general. Instead it is focused on a task – removing them from your yard! Perhaps some high school students would be able to synthesize the materials and learn behavioral patterns. However, my demographic of elementary students would have a very difficult time.

There is somuch facts to learn about an animal I had hardly know anything about. It was so interesting in reading about the ground hog. But quite surprising nothing much was not said about the female ground hog.
