I think that Marjane Satrapi might be trying to communicate that the revolution was chaotic in Iran. No one is clearly taking the lead even though there are many Iranians involved in the conflict.

I notice that its a group of people with angry expressions on their face shouting with “DOWN WITH THE KING!” also raising their fist, the people clearly does not agree with the king hence going against him

I noticed that the mother was young when the police came to her door asking for her father. This scene stood out to me because she was so young when she sees the police taking her father away. She shouldn’t have been able to see that.
The author was trying to convey that Marji’s mother went through the pain of a loved one being imprisoned by the government. The deeper meaning of this is how the Irans suffered. Not only did the prisoners suffer, but the family members were affected as well.

I think the author Marjane Satrapi is trying to communicate that instead of the money going to the people to help them with their needs or even build their country to be better, they instead put all the money into objective and bad ideals how they money should just go to impress people who just see you ass a puppet. The population could care less because nothing is going towards them there not even being thought about, they all know he’s being used but there’s no point in telling him that. As they try and impress other people most of the population is losing faith because there honestly being used.

All of the people who went to protests, their families at home probably felt the exact same way that Marji, her mom and grandmother felt which was not being sure if they were going to see their loved one again.
