Really, did we have to come all the way to this country without even asking my brother If we liked the idea? It's been almost 12 year's since we've been in this country. I remember it was only 9 years when we got here because our grandmas and parents decided to bring us, we got here in an airplane. Everything was different for me, the food, language. I didn't like it until a couple of years passed and decided to get on track.

Dr Laura Clarke Dr Laura Clarke (Oct 06 2021 2:09PM) : I want you to be more specific here. What do you mean by "get back on track?" Perhaps you could say "But this isolation I felt eventually led to a new outlook on life."

Back in my country before coming to New York City, we have a good life a big house. We use to live on a private property and a private Christian Church, i remember been happy back, i use to get in all the activities for the school, i use to have very good grades. Then when they told us we were going to move to a different country call New York and that a couple of days after they say that they told us they were going for us to school earlier and they were celebrating our bday that day in school because we really got along with everybody in that school and it was sad because i remember crying because i was leaving all behind friends, cousins the place where i actually lived my whole childhood, i still have some places and people's flashbacks. After that i remember leaving at night and our cousins from my mom's side went to say bye and uncles and aunts and they were all crying because we have a very close connections we were all close, that night i was really crying cause i saw them leave if i well remember they drop us to the Airport. I remember my grandma going with us one of them and i kinda was nervous so i just fall sleep the whole time in the airplane. So we got to New York our grandma and grandpa was waiting for us at the airport it was really nice and cool but i was really really upset and sad but i never say anything because i didn't want nobody to feel bad and deep down i knew it was a good things for all of us, a good opportunity to be in this country. So they put us in school after a couple of day's and i ain't gonna lied i was feeling really nervous because back on that time i really didn't know much english at all maybe understand the basic words but i couldn't speak or write and since i knew i was gonna pass the class for free my two years i didn't care at all or worry. it pass like 4 years until I did really start carrying because there was this class that i fail for one point it was math and i try to talk to somebody about it but nobody say anything or try to help so i was like you know what i really need to learn English so this doesn't happen to me or my brother next time. I decided to focus on learning English back in that time and how to write it as well. I started getting around people who only speak English even though they knew Spanish, and time passed and I really learned a lot by listening, listening, speaking and writing in English. It helps a lot. My mind changes year by year. I went through a lit back at that time because I wasn't that open to people and am still interested but I decided to open up to certain people. I never cry because of all the challenges and emotions I was going through back then so I will just get mad and serious and not say anything at all. Time pass and fly and learn things i got experience because of the people I use to be with and i make some decision before to be with people i should but i learn and decide to move out of their lives and keep in my own, why

At the beginning I didn't like coming to New York, it took me a couple of years to get used to the country because back where I used to live, mostly everybody knew me because of my family, like everybody used to talk to me I could communicate much better. I got here and i realized experience and see how the world really was and i ain't gonna lied it might be a bad thing but like i say every bad things it's a good experience to our life because with out does challenges or mistakes we wouldn't never learn or think we won't be wrong at some point. My mind opened up so much when I got here. I am learning another language and I still know some people, especially where I live. I have been living in the same place for years. My mind changed and I think my grandma's and parents made a good decision to bring us to New York. That way we got a better education and a better opportunity for work.
