Robert A (Dec 02 2021 10:16AM) : I believe these two aspects of RACES can be broken into two learning targets. Explain and Analyze can be one day where students explore how to Analyze. I teach this as combining what you know with what you read to say something new.

Liz L (Nov 07 2021 10:46AM) : The problem here is that there is not clear connection between sentences 1 & 2. Perhaps the student could explain why the character needs to be able to do things himself as an introduction to the quote.
