This activity lends itself to CRSE as well as Personalized Learning in that it gives students Voice and allows for Social Construction. Nice!

The student is clearly moved by the activity and makes personal connections. The next step is to add a specific example and explain its significance and a reaction. There is one quote, but the explanation is very general. It would be interesting to use a few of these samples to establish some criteria with the students. For example, the first sentence here is a good attention grabber.

This student did a good job of explaining the situation but didn’t give much of a reaction. The writing is also good. I wonder if more explicit expectations would improve performance. Even good work can be improved!
