NCLB

This legislation was flawed from the start. While its intentions were honorable--to help all children achieve their potential--the implemention strategy was doomed. Several reason:

1. Education was and always has been a State's responsibility and right. Federal medling impedes local authority

2. Measuring success by test scores is ignorant because this is not what tests are for and achieving 100% on any standardized test is statistically impossible.

3. Ignoring the arts, sciences, health, etc and focusing only on academics is short sighted and reflects the limitations of  a narrow view of what is a well roundee education.
